Make 2019 the year you become a yoga teacher or simply delve deeper into this ancient practice with the IYTA’s Internationally recognised Diploma of Yoga Teaching. There are still a few spots left on this renowned 460-hour course which is fully registered with Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance (US). The course which begins in February, is run in Sydney one weekend a month from February to November each year, including a six-day residential at Collaroy on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This course is also available by distance education in Australia and many overseas countries.
You will receive comprehensive tuition in, anatomy and physiology, history and philosophy of Yoga, meditation, pranayama, traditional asana practice, class planning, and an introduction to the specialised areas of children’s, pre-natal and senior’s yoga. Emphasis is placed on safety in teaching and the ability to modify postures to ensure teaching for the needs of individual students.
IYTA has been running Yoga Teacher Training for nearly fifty (50) years and will take you on personal journey of self-development and provide you with the confidence to step out as a skilled yoga teacher or deepen your personal practise with a wholistic view of yoga. IYTA is non profit and dedicated to providing professional, internationally recognised teacher training and ongoing support and education for yoga teachers.
IYTA are excited to launch live streaming for all our distance education students next year. Each study weekend will be live streamed across Australia, so the distance education students can feel connected to the lecturers and face-to-face students.

Requirements for enrolment
The student must have at least two (2) years yoga experience.
Assessment and graduation
To graduate, students must attend the six-day residential workshop; successfully complete all quizzes and assessments. On successful completion of the course, students graduate with an internationally recognised teaching diploma and are eligible to apply for Full Membership of the IYTA.
